Unlike traditional granular carbons, Matrix Carbon will not compact, ensuring consistent water flow and full utilization of its absorptive surface. It has an extremely low ash content, meaning it won’t raise pH—even in distilled water. It also boasts the lowest leachable phosphate content of any major carbon brand, making it safe for sensitive reef systems.
